Well announces acquisition of three pharmacies

Well Pharmacy has announced the recent acquisition of three pharmacies, one in West Yorkshire and two in Oxfordshire.

In a statement earlier today, the UK’s third largest pharmacy multiple said it had acquired Pharmacy Express in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, as well as two branches of Frosts Pharmacy – one in Banbury and one in Marston. All three stores will be rebranded “in due course”.

A recent report by property company Christie & Co found that Well had divested two stores in the 12 months to March 31 this year, a much smaller drop in store coverage than some of its fellow Company Chemists’ Association members.

Well Pharmacy operations director Louis Purchase said: “We are so pleased to be welcoming three new pharmacies to the Well family.

“We are excited to continue to expand the communities that we serve. We believe passionately in community pharmacy, and we want our offering to be the best experience of this in the UK.

“We also hope our new colleagues can keep progressing and develop their clinical skills even further by being part of Well Pharmacy.”
